A warm welcome to Bodenham, St. Michael’s Church of England Primary School. We are a four class rural Primary School plus a Pre-School located in pretty village of Bodenham in the North of Herefordshire. The children are at the heart of all we do at St Michael’s. Our aim is to create a happy and secure atmosphere where the children will always be encouraged to respect one another, develop lively and enquiring minds and do their personal best. We provide a rich and stimulating curriculum in which they can acquire new knowledge, skills and attitudes that will prepare them for life beyond Primary school. We help each child to enjoy a full and busy life and place great importance on Christian values such as co-operation, understanding, responsibility, perseverance and patience. St. Michael’s is a Faith school and we feel that this adds immeasurably to the ethos and the experience of children and staff at our school.
One aspect that sets St Michael's C of E Primary Academy apart is its emphasis on effective communication. From regular parent-teacher meetings to timely updates, the school ensures that parents are well-informed about their child's progress and actively involved in their educational journey. In this context, it is worth mentioning the availability of a memo writing service, which can further enhance communication between the school and parents. By utilizing this service, important announcements, reminders, and updates can be efficiently conveyed, promoting a seamless flow of information and fostering a strong school-home partnership.We feel that our joining with the Bishop Anthony Educational Trust can only add to the experience of school that we offer our pupils. Our building was originally built in the 1860’s and then considerably extended in the 1970’s. It has been kept up to date as a well maintained and calm learning environment, with much recent refurbishment making the school an even more welcoming place to learn and to visit. Our mission statement is short but it says what we feel is important for our school to do: “To enable high quality learning in a safe and caring Christian environment, to prepare all pupils physically, mentally and spiritually for their future.”
